Week 2 - Module G (UED 102)

GETTING READY TO LEARN, GOAL SETTING, TIME MANAGEMENT

WEDNESDAY, 25 JULY 2018

This morning I attended my first UED class. It was held at Al-Fabari Hall. The hall was far from my college and it took about 30 minutes to reach there. I have to go out early so that I won't late to be there before class started.

Today, the lecture was given by two inspiring lecturers; Madam Fadhilah and Sir Isha. They were very friendly with the students. I can get along with the way they gave their lecture this morning and to be truth I'm not yawning during the lecture EVEN ONCE. It makes myself shock too!!

Madam Fadhilah asked us to do the ice breaking thingy. But the ice was not that 'break' or in other words the ice was just cracked 😂 From that ice cracked, I met new friends. We were divided by our group. I was in GROUP 14. Before we were asked to move to our group, Madam asked us to play a game. She gave us 10 seconds to search for one friend that has the same programme with us. After that, 10 seconds more was give to look our new friends who came from the same state. It was very excited as I can know who was in the hall has the same state as me. So that we can go back together hehehehe 😜

I'm not be able to take their picture just now so just imagine the guy is Sir Isha and the lady is Madam Fadhilah. Hahahahaha I'm sorry Sir, Madam! 🙏😅

For the first UED class today, it consists of 3 topics. As I have written above, the topics are GETTING READY TO LEARN, GOALS SETTING & TIME MANAGEMENT.

The first topic was given by Madam Fadhilah. GETTING READY TO LEARN. What is the meaning behind this topic?

TOPIC 1:  Getting ready to learn

As the new university students, of course some of us will have the culture shock about how to change our study method from school's way to university's way. According to Madam Fadhilah's notes, these are the differences between school and university.....

  • LESS TIME IN CLASS
  • MORE TIME STUDYING OUTSIDE
  • FEWER TESTS
  • NOT BE REMINDED OF DUE DATES & EXAMS
  • FEWER DAILY ASSIGNMENTS & THEY MAY NOT BE CHECKED
  • LIVE & STUDY IN THE SAME PLACE
  • CLASSES ARE BIGGER
  • NO EXTENSIONS ON DUE DATES
  • PARTICIPATION AFFECTS GRADES
